Feed Bag Supplies Livestock and Pet
Feed and Accessories

The Feed Bag, your down-home
country store, invites you to come in, have a cup of coffee,
chat with your neighbors, and maybe play a game of dominoes
when you pick up your livestock or pet supplies. The
Feed Bag is owned and operated by Todd and Michele Cash,
livestock owners and lifetime residents of the lower Rio
Grande Valley.
Mr. Cash has been a pillar of the
livestock show community. For twenty one years he has
volunteered at local livestock shows including Cameron
County, Willacy County, and Rio Grande Valley livestock
shows. The past nine years he has been president of the
Cameron County Fair & Livestock Show.
The warm, friendly atmosphere will
allow you to find all of your livestock or pet needs.
The goal at the Feed Bag is to
provide for their customer’s needs, always aiming to please.
The Feed Bag’s customers are loyal because the feed
quality and freshness is exceptional and Cash goes out of
his way to please his customers.
As more and more products are requested
by its customers, The Feed Bag hopes to grow into a
larger warehouse with a larger showroom. They also plan to
include services such as hoof-trimming, clipper blade
sharpening, and seminars on livestock and pet health,
showmanship and nutrition.
In deciding to open the Feed Bag,
the Cashes talked with other livestock owners in the
area and realized that they were not alone in their
disappointment with local feed stores.
Although he had the idea and
determination, Mr. Cash still need financing.
Through the support and direction of
The University of Texas - Pan American Small Business
Development Center (SBDC), Mr. Cash was able to determine
his start-up costs, monthly expenses, and sales projections
for the new business. The SBDC also introduced Mr. and Mrs.
Cash to the SBA Business Loan Express (BLX). As a result,
Mr. Cash was able to raise enough working capital to meet
his monthly obligations in addition to obtaining any other
necessary assets.
The Feed Bag is located at 2412 West Business Highway 77,
between the cities of Harlingen and San Benito. For further
