Neuhaus Professor of Economics
Alberto Davila is the Neuhaus Professor of Economics,
Director of the
Neuhaus Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Education,
and Chair of the Department of Economics and Finance in the
College of Business Administration. He has a Ph.D. in
economics from Iowa State University and has been conducting
research on border economic issues and maquiladoras for many
years. His current research focuses on understanding the
differences in self-employment rates across regions and
ethnic groups. He is also doing research work on the
self-employment variations between the U.S.-Mexico border
and the interior of the United States as well as across
immigrant groups depending on their time in this country.
